Question
Anuj invested Rs. ‘x’ at simple interest of 15% p.a.
and Anil invested Rs. (x + 500) at simple interest of 10% p.a. If at the end of 2nd year, sum of interest received by Anuj and Anil was Rs. 1350 then find the value of ‘x’.Solution
According to the question,
(x × 0.15 × 2) + {(x + 500) × 0.1 × 2} = 1350
Or, 0.3x + 0.2x + 100 = 1350
Or, 0.5x = 1250
Or, x = 1250/0.5 = 2500
Or, x = 2500
