    ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ divide a certain sum of

money among themselves. The average of the amount with them is Rs. 3400. Share of ‘A’ is 25% more than share of ‘B’ and 37.5% less than share of ‘C’. What is the share of ‘B’ (in Rs.)?
A 2400 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 3000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 2700 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 2500 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E 2100 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Let share of ‘B’ = Rs. 80x Share of ‘A’ = 80x + {25% of 80x} = Rs. 100x Share of ‘C’ = (8/5) × 100x = Rs. 160x Total amount with ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’, together = 3400 × 3 = Rs. 10200 So, 100x + 80x + 160x = 10200 Or, 340x = 10200 Or, x = 30 So, share of ‘B’ = 80x = 80 × 30 = Rs. 2400
