    ‘Q’ is 5:2, respectively. ‘P’ spends 60% of his pocket money while ‘Q’ spends 25% of his pocket money. If the savings of ‘P’ is Rs. 150 more than that of ‘Q’, then find the total pocket money of ‘P’.

    Solution

    Let the pocket money of ‘P’ and ‘Q’ be Rs. 5x and Rs. 2x respectively
    (0.4 × 5x) – (0.75 × 2x) = 150
    2x – 1.5x = 150 → 0.5x = 150 → x = 300
    Therefore, pocket money of ‘P’ = 5x = Rs. 1500
