    Solution

    Let the number of girls in the class = 'x'
    Then, number of boys in the class = (x + 8)
    So, x + x + 8 = 140
    Or, x = (140 - 8) ÷ 2 = 66
    So, number of girls and number of boys in the class are 66 and 74, respectively.
    Therefore, required ratio = (66 + 4):(74 + 6) = 70:80 = 7:8
