Question
Rahul and Tarun scored marks in the ratio 6:5. If Rahul
had scored 4 marks more and Tarun had scored 5 marks less, the ratio of their marks would have become 7:5. Find the original marks obtained by Tarun.Solution
Marks obtained by Rahul and Tarun be ‘6x’ and ‘5x’ respectively.
So, (6x + 4)/(5x – 5) = 7/5
6x + 4 = 7x – 7
x = 11
Marks obtained by Tarun = 5x = 55
Simplify:
6x + 8y - [(12x + 6y) - (4x + 3y) + 2y] - 4xIf 9x2 + 16y2 = 24xy, then find the ratio of ‘x’ and ‘y’, respectively.
- Suppose [a + (1/16a)] = 3, then the value of [16a³ + (1/256a³)] is:
If, 6x + y = 20, and 2xy = 32, and 6x > y, then find the value of 216x³ – y³.
If x + 1/x = 2, find x⁷ + 1/x⁷.
(x – 6) 2 + (y + 2) 2 + (z – 4) 2 = 0, then find the value of 4x - 3y + z.
