Number of adult boys = 15% of 3x = (15/100) Ă— 3x = 0.45x Number of adult girls = 25% of 2x = (25/100) Ă— 2x = 0.50x Total number of adults = 0.45x + 0.50x = 0.95x Total number of students = 3x + 2x = 5x So, number of non-adults = 5x - 0.95x = 4.05x Required percentage = {(4.05x - 0.95x)/4.05x} Ă— 100 = (3.10/4.05) Ă— 100 = 76.54% So, adults are approximately 77% less than non-adults in the college.
