    Quantity I. let the larger number be  x  Smaller number = (x-15) x(x – 15) = 90 `xx` 15 x2 - 15x  = 1350 x2 - 15x  – 1350 = 0 (x-45)(x+30) = 0  x = 45 Larger number = 45 and Smaller number = 30 Quantity II. Let the larger number be x  Smaller number = 45 – x x(45-x) = 100 x 5 x2 - 45x  + 500 = 0 (x-20)(x-25) = 0  x = 20, 25 Larger number = 25 Smaller number = 20 Hence, Quantity I > Quantity II.
