two NGOs, 'X' and 'Y', in the ratio of 12:15. If the donation amount given to NGO 'Y' exceeds the donation to NGO 'X' by Rs. 600, determine the amount remaining with 'P' after making these donations.Solution
ATQ,
Let the amount donated to NGO ‘X’ and ‘Y’ be Rs. 12x and Rs. 15x respectively. According to the question, 15x – 12x = 600 Or, x = Rs. 200 Total amount donated to all the two NGOs = 27x = Rs. 5400 Monthly income of 'P' = 5400/0.25 = Rs. 21600 Amount left with 'P' = 0.75 × 21600 = Rs. 16200
