Solution

I. x2 + 25x + 154 = 0 => x2 + 14x + 11x + 154 = 0 => x(x + 14) + 11(x + 14) = 0 => (x + 11) (x + 14) = 0 => x = -11, -14 II. y2 + 27y + 181 = 0 => y2 + 14y + 13y + 181 = 0 => y(y + 14) + 13(y + 14) = 0 => (y + 14) (y + 13) = 0 => y = -14, -13 Hence, x = y or the relationship cannot be established.
