A Rs. 7600 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Rs. 8000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C Rs. 8200 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Rs. 8400 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

Total cost price of articles β€˜R’ and β€˜S’ together
      = 13000 Γ— 2 = Rs. 26000 Cost price of article β€˜R’
      = 6/13 Γ— 26000 = Rs. 12000 Cost price of article β€˜S’
      = 26000 – 12000 = Rs. 14000 Let profit percentage earned on selling article β€˜R’ is x%. So, 12000 Γ— (1 + x/100) + 14000 Γ— (1 – x/100) = 25200 Or, 12000 + 120x + 14000 – 140x = 25200 Or, 26000 – 20x = 25200 Or, 20x = 800 Or, x = 40 So, desired difference
      = 1.40 Γ— 12000 – 0.60 Γ— 14000
      = 16800 – 8400
      = Rs. 8400
