Question
After selling 24 kg of milk powder, Varun suffered a loss equal to the selling price of 6 kg of milk powder. If he purchased the total milk powder for Rs. 1500, find the selling price per kg of the milk powder.
Solution
ATQ, Let the selling price of the milk powder be Rs. x/kg Therefore, loss = Rs. 6x According to the question, 6x = 1500 – 24x (Since, loss = cost price – selling price) Or, 30x = 1500 Or, x = 50 Therefore, selling price of each kg of milk powder = Rs. 50
