So, 4000 × (1 + x/100) + 6000 × (1 – x/100) = 9400 Or, 4000 + 40x + 6000 – 60x = 9400 Or, 10000 – 20x = 9400 Or, 20x = 600 Or, x = 30 So, desired difference= 1.30 × 4000 – 0.70 × 6000 = 5200 – 4200 = Rs. 1000
