Question
The cost price of a chair is Rs. 800. A vendor purchased 10
such chairs and sold 3 at 10% profit, 4 at 15% profit and the rest for Rs. 880 each. What is the total profit made by the vendor?Solution
ATQ,
Total selling price of chairs = (3 × 800 × 1.10) + (4 × 800 × 1.15) + (3 × 880) = 2640 + 3680 + 2640 = Rs. 8,960
And, total cost price = 800 × 10 = Rs. 8,000
So, profit earned = 8960 - 8000 = Rs. 960
