Question
Cost price of an article is Rs.100. Find the selling
price of the article, if it is sold at two successive discounts of 20% and 30% and the ratio between the marked price and cost price of article is 13: 10.Solution
Cost price of article = Rs.100
So, marked price of article = 100* 13/10 = Rs.130
Discounts% = 20% and 30% successively
Selling price = 130* [(100 - 20) /100]* [(100 - 30) /100]
= 130* 80/100* 70/100 = 728/10 = Rs.72.8
