Question
Neha sold a product to Sanjana at a 20% profit. Sanjana
then sold it to Meera, earning the same absolute profit (in Rs.) that Neha made. Finally, Meera sold the product to Priya at a 60% profit. By what percentage is the cost price of the product for Priya greater than the cost price for Neha?Solution
ATQ;
Let the cost price of the product for Neha be Rs. '100x'.
So, cost price of the product for Sanjana = 100x X 1.2 = Rs. '120x'.
Profit made by Neha = 120x - 100x = Rs. 20x.
Cost price of the product for Meera = 120x + 20x = Rs. 140x.
So, cost price of the product for Priya = 140x X 1.6 = Rs. 224x.
So, required % = {(224x - 100x)/100x} X 100 = 124%.
