    The ratio of the cost prices of Leather Shoes to Sports

    Shoes is 6:5. Both types of shoes are sold after a single discount of 20% for Leather Shoes and 25% for Sports Shoes. If the selling price is the same for both shoes, and the difference between their marked prices is Rs. 125, find the cost price of Leather Shoes, considering that Leather Shoes were sold at a profit of Rs. 300.

    ATQ, Let selling price of Leather and Sports shoes be Rs. ‘y’, each. So, marked price of Leather shoes = (y/0.80) = Rs.(5y/4) Marked price of Sports shoes = (y/0.75) = Rs.(4y/3) ATQ; (4y/3) – (5y/4) = 125 So, y = 1500 So, cost price of Leather shoes  = 1500 – 300  = Rs.1,200
