      Question

A shopkeeper sells two products A and B. He earns 21%

profit on a product A costing Rs. 1200. If the overall profit on selling two products is 18%, then what will be the profit percentage on the other product B costing Rs. 1000?
A 35% Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 23.75% Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 14.4% Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 27% Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

      Cost Price of A = Rs. 1200
      Cost Price of B = Rs. 1000
      Profit on A = 0.21 × 1200 = Rs. 252
      Overall profit = 0.18 × 2200 = Rs. 396
      Profit on B = 396 – 252 = Rs. 144
      Profit percentage = 144/1000 × 100 = 14.4 %
