Let, cost price of the jewelry be Rs. 100x
Marked price = 1.50 × 100x = Rs. 150x
Selling price after discount = 0.80 × 150x = Rs. 120x
According to the question:
120x = 4800
So, x = 40
Desired selling price = 0.90 × 1.50 × 4000 = Rs. 5400
