Let the total capacity of tank be 180 litres (LCM of 45 and 60)
Efficiency of inlet pipe = (180/45) = 4 litres/minute
Efficiency of outlet pipe = (180/60) = -3 litres/minute
Required time = (0.5 × 180) ÷ (4 - 3) = 90 minutes
