Question
In an exam, Neha attended 90% of the questions. Out of these, she answered 50% correctly. She gets 5 marks for each correct answer and 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer. If Neha scored 180 marks , find the total number of questions.
Solution
ATQ, Let the total number of questions = 100x Number of questions attended = 100x * 90/100 = 90x Number of correct answers = 90x * 50/100 = 45x Number of wrong answers = 90x – 45x = 45x According to the question, 45x * 5 – 45x * 1 = 180 225x – 45x = 180 180x = 180 x = 1 Total number of questions = 100 * 1 = 100
