Number of students who like cricket = 100x × 25/100 = 25x Number of students who like rugby = 100x × 40/100 = 40x Number of students who like football = 100x − 25x − 40x = 35x According to the question, 35x − (40x/2) = 300 35x − 20x = 300 15x = 300 x = 20 Total number of students in the school = 100 × 20 = 2000
