Question
A farmer harvested 8000 kg of produce, where 40% of the
produce was fruits and the remaining was vegetables. If 60% of the fruits harvested and 50% of the vegetables harvested were sold, find the total quantity of produce sold.Solution
ATQ,
Quantity of fruits harvested = 8000 X 0.40 = 3200
Quantity of fruits sold = 3200 X 0.60 = 1920
Quantity of vegetables harvested = 8000 - 3200 = 4800
Quantity of vegetables sold = 4800 X 0.50 = 2400
So, total quantity of produce sold = 1920 + 2400 = 4320
