    Let the marks obtained by B be ‘x’. So, marks obtained by A = 1.25x According to question, (1.25x – x) + 160 = 175 0.25x = 175 - 160 0.25x = 15 x = 15/0.25 x = 60 Therefore, marks obtained by A = 1.25 × 60 = 75 marks
