Question
'A', 'B' and 'C' started a business together such that
'A' invested a 25% of the total capital invested by 'A', 'B' and 'C' together, 'B' invested 40% of the remaining capital and 'C' invested the rest, then find the profit share of 'A' given that the business earned a profit of Rs. 3,36,000 at the end of the year.Solution
Let the total capital invested by 'A', 'B' and 'C' together be Rs. '100x' So, capital invested by 'A' = 100x × 0.25 = Rs. '25x' And, capital invested by 'B' = (100x − 25x) × 0.4 = Rs. '30x' And, capital invested by 'C' = 100x − 25x − 30x = Rs. '45x' Ratio of profit share of 'A', 'B' and 'C' = {25x × 12}:{30x × 12}:{45x × 12} = 5:6:9 So, profit share of 'A' = 3,36,000 × (5/20) = Rs. 84,000
