ratio 6:4 respectively. After 8 months, Karan joined the business, investing an amount equal to the average of Amit’s and Riya’s investments. If the total profit at the end of 16 months was Rs. 3,64,000, how much profit did Riya receive?
A Rs.1,25,320 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Rs.2,56,320 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C Rs.1,16,480 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Rs.5,36,300 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    ATQ,

Let the initial investment of Amit and Riya be Rs. ‘6x’ and Rs. ‘4x’, respectively.

    So, the investment of Karan = (6x + 4x) ÷ 2 = Rs. ‘5x’

Now, the profit share ratio of Amit, Riya, and Karan =

    (6x × 16) : (4x × 16) : (5x × 8) = 96 : 64 : 40

    Simplify → 12:8:5

    So, required profit for Riya = 364000 × (8/25) = Rs.1,16,480
