A and B started a business investing Rs. 3600 for ‘x’ months and Rs. 4800 for 7 months, respectively. Out of total profit of Rs. 4000, profit share of B is Rs. 2800. Find the value of x.

Ratio of profit share of A to B = (3600 × x):(4800 × 7) = 3x : 28

According to question,

3x/28 = (4000 – 2800)/2800

3x/28 = 1200/2800

3x = 12

x = 4 months
