Question
In a school a total of 3,920 candies was distributed
among all the students in the school. The candies were distributed in such a way that number of candies received by each student were 20% of the total number of students in the school. Find the number of candies each student gets.Solution
Let the total number of students in the school be '5x'. So, the number of candies received by each student = 0.2 × 5x = 'x' ATQ, Total number of candies distributed = 5x × x = 3920 Or, x² = (3920 ÷ 5) = 784 Since, number of candies cannot be negative. So, x = 28 Therefore, the number of candies received by each student = x = 28
