Let us assume the one of the numbers is 'x' Then, another number is = 3 × x = '3x' So, x × 3x = 432 Or, 3x2 = 432 Or, x2 = 144 Or, x = 12 {Since, the numbers are positive} Required difference = {3 × (12) - 12} = (36 - 12) = 24
