    In a mixture, ratio of honey to water is 6:5. 80 ml of

    mixture is removed and 160 ml of water is added. Now, water becomes 150% of honey. Find the initial quantity of mixture.

    ATQ,

    Let amount of honey and water in the original mixture be 6x ml and 5x ml respectively.

    Amount of honey in 80 ml of mixture = 6/11 × 80 = 43.64 ml

    Amount of water in 80 ml of mixture = 80 – 43.64 = 36.36 ml

    According to the question:

    (5x – 36.36 + 160) = 2.5 × (6x – 43.64)

    Or, 5x + 123.64 = 15x – 109.1

    Or, 10x = 232.74

    Or, x = 23.27

    Original quantity of mixture = 11x = 11 × 23.27 = 256 ml
