    Question

    Circumference of one of the bases of a right circular

    cylinder is 132 cm. If height of the cylinder is 15 cm more than its radius, then find the volume (in cm³) of the cylinder. (Use π = 22/7)
    A 46,200 cm³ Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    B 48,510 cm³ Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    C 49,896 cm³ Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    D 51,480 cm³ Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    E 53,064 cm³ Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Circumference of base of cylinder = 2 × π × radius So,
    2 × (22/7) × radius = 132 Or,
    radius = 21 cm Height of the cylinder = 21 + 15 = 36 cm Therefore,
    Volume of cylinder = π × radius² × height = (22/7) × 21² × 36
    = 49,896 cm³
