Question
The length and width of a rectangle are 40 cm and 24 cm respectively. If the length is increased by 20% and the width is decreased by 10%, what will be the perimeter of the resulting rectangle?
Solution
ATQ,
Length of the new rectangle = 1.20 Γ 40 = 48 cm
Breadth of the new rectangle = 0.90 Γ 24 = 21.6 cm
Required perimeter = 2 Γ (48 + 21.6) = 139.2 cm
