    Question

Length and breadth of a rectangle are in the ratio 3:8.

If the perimeter of the rectangle is 70 cm more than the breadth of the rectangle, then find the area (in cm2) of the rectangle.
A 650 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 620 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 600 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 630 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Let the length and breadth of the rectangle be '3x' cm and '8x' cm, respectively. ATQ; 2 × (3x + 8x) = 70 + 8x Or, 16x = 70 + 8x Or, 14x = 70 So, x = 5 So, required area = 3x × 8x = 24 × 52 = 600 cm2
