A barrel has 140 liters of mixture of alcohol and water, in which water is 10%. 30 litre of this mixture was taken out and replaced with “X” liter alcohol. If the final quantity of alcohol in the mixture is 120 liters, what is the value of X?
Initial quantity of alcohol = 140*0.90 = 126 l Initial quantity of water = 14 l Ratio = 9: 1 After 30 l mixture taken out: Quantity of Alcohol= 126-30*9/10 = 27= 99 liter & water is 14-30*1/10 = 11 99 + X=120 => x = 21
