According to the question Let the length and breadth of rectangle are x cm and (x – 4) cm respectively. Perimeter of rectangle = 2 x (Length + Breadth) ⇒ 2 (x + x – 4) = 48 ⇒ x = 14 Length = x = 14 cm Breadth = x – 4 = 10 cm Area of rectangle = Length x Breadth Area of rectangle = 14 x 10 = 140 cm²
