Question
(160/3)% of the raindrops could have been collected,
when 5 cm of rain has fallen on a part of land of area 1.8 km2, in a tank having a 240 m × 10 m base, then water collected in the tank is 75% of its capacity. Find the capacity of the tank?ÂSolution
The volume of rain water in the land which could have been collected and the volume of water in the tank should be equal . Let, level of water in the tank is h meter. According to the question, ⇒ 5/100 × 1800 × 1800 × 160/300 = 240 × 10 × h ⇒ h = 36 m Volume of water in the tank = 240m × 10m × 36m = 86400 m3 Since, water in the tank is 75% of its capacity. So, capacity of tank = (86400/75) × 100 = 115200 m3
Simplify the following expression and find the final value:
(18 ÷ 6 of 2 + 7 of 5) ÷ 5
(1520 - 1350) ÷ (550 – 500) = ?
Simplify the following expressions and choose the correct option.
[540 ÷ (6 × 3) + 7.5 × 4] ÷ 3 = ?
(64/25)? × (125/512)?-1 = 5/8
52% of 400 + √(?) = 60% of 600 - 25% of 400
What will come in the place of question mark (?) in the given expression?
