Question
A car moves 144 km in 4 hours. The bike goes 1.5 m/s
slower than the car. What distance (in metres) does the bike cover in 6 minutes 20 seconds?Solution
ATQ,
Speed of car = (144/4) = 36 km/h = 36 × (5/18) = 10 m/s
Speed of bike = 10 − 1.5 = 8.5 m/s
6 minutes 20 seconds = 6 × 60 + 20 = 380 seconds
Required distance = 8.5 × 380 = 3,230 metres
