Question
A launches a partnership with Rs. (P + 700). B joins
after 5 months with Rs. 2P. If the ratio of B’s profit share to A’s is 7:8, find (P − 100).Solution
ATQ,
Ratio of profit share of A and B respectively:
= [(P + 700) × 12] : [2P × 7]
= (12P + 8400) : 14P
= (6P + 4200) : 7P (dividing by 2)
ATQ;
(6P + 4200) : 7P = 8 : 7
Or, 6P + 4200 = 8P
Or, 2P = 4200
Or, P = 2100
Required value = 2100 − 100 = 2000
