Question
A wire is moulded into a circle of radius 21
m. Then the wire is bent and shaped into a rectangle of length 36
m. Find the area of the rectangle thus formed?
Solution
Circumference of circle = Perimeter of a rectangle = 2πr = 2 × 22/7 × 21 = 132 m Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l + b) 132 = 2(l + b) 36 + b = 66 B= 66 – 36 = 30 m ∴ Area of the rectangle = l × b = 36 × 30 = 1080 m²
