Total number of gold movie tickets available in theatre
A and B is 20% and 40% more than that in C respectively and average number of gold movie tickets sold by theatre A, B and C is 280. Find the total number of gold movie tickets available in theatre B. Study the following chart carefully and answer the given questions: The radar graph given below shows the percentage of movie tickets sold of two categories (gold and platinum) in four different theatres A, B, C and D in a month. Note: Total number of movie tickets = sold + unsoldSolution
Let total number of gold movie tickets available in theatre C be 100x. Total number of gold movie tickets available in theatre A = 120x Total number of gold movie tickets available in theatre B = 140x Number of gold movie tickets sold by theatre A = 120x × (20/100) = 24x Number of gold movie tickets sold by theatre B = 140x × (40/100) = 56x Number of gold movie tickets sold by theatre C = 100x × (60/100) = 60x Now, (24x + 56x + 60x)/3 = 280 => 140x = 840 => x = 6 Total number of gold movie tickets available in theatre B = 140x = 840
