Study the following graph carefully and answer the questions. The following line graph shows the monthly income and savings of five persons in 2018. Expenses = Income - Savings

E spends 25% of his expenses on Travelling and he spend remaining expense amount on Household and Education. Expenses on Household are 550% more than that of spent on Education. Find E’s annual expenses on Education.

Solution

Expenditure of E = 35000 – 12000 = Rs.23000 E spends on Travelling = 23000 × (25/100) = Rs.5750 E spends on Household and Education = 23000 × (75/100) = Rs.17250 Expenses on Household/ Expenses on Education = 13/2 Now, 15 (13 + 2) ------ 17250 => 2 ------ (17250/15) × 2 = 2300 E’s annual expense on Education = 2300 × 12 = Rs.27600
