      I:  Varun spends one-third of his salary on rent, one –fifth on household expenses, one – sixth on travel expenses and deposits the remaining in the bank. Statement II:  His monthly deposits in the bank amount to Rs. 18,000. Statement III:  The ratio of his salary to his wife’s is 6 : 1. His wife spends one – fifth of her salary on travel expenses, and the remaining Rs. 8,000 on her cosmetic goods. Each of the questions below consists of a question and three statements numbered I, II and III given below it. You have to decide whether the data provided in all the three statements are sufficient to answer the question. Read all the statements and give answer –

      From I: Let the Varun’s salary be x x/3 + x/5 + x/6 + D = x ∴ D = 3x/10 From II: D = Rs. 18,000 Now using I and II,  D = 3x/10 18,000 =  3x/10 x = 60,000 From III: Let his wife’s salary be = Rs. x x - x/5 = 8,000 4x/5 = 8,000 x = 10,000 Now, Varun’s salary = 6/1 = y/10000 y =  10,000 × 6 = Rs. 60,000
