Question
Sum of ages of 45 employees is 1080 years. The average
age of 15 of them is 20 years and average age of another 20 of them is 18 years. Find the average age of the remaining employees.Solution
Given, sum of age of 45 employees = 1080 years
Sum of age of 15 employees = 15 Γ 20 = 300 years
Sum of age of another 20 employees = 20 Γ 18 = 360 years
Remaining number of employees = 45 β 15 β 20 = 10
Average age of remaining 10 employees = {(1080 β 300 β 360)/10} = (420/10) = 42 years
