The average number of coins distributed among five
friends is 15. If each friend received 1 coin more than the friend before, then find the highest number of coins received by any friend.Solution
Let the coins received by 1st friend be ‘x’
According to the question,
(x + x + 1 + x + 2 + x + 3 + x + 4) = 15 × 5
Or, 5x + 10 = 75
Or, 5x = 65
Or, x = 13
Therefore, highest number of coins received by any friend = (x + 4) = 17
