      The average age of R, S, T and U is 32 years and the

      average age of R and S is also 32 years. If U is 4 years older than T, then determine the age of T.
      A 30 yrs Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      B 41 yrs Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      C 27 yrs Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      D 33 yrs Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

      ATQ,

      Sum of the ages of R, S, T and U = 32 × 4 = 128 years

      Sum of the ages of R and S = 32 × 2 = 64 years

      Sum of the ages of T and U = 128 – 64 = 64 years

      Let the age of T be ‘x’ years

      So, age of U = (x + 4) years

      Then, x + x + 4 = 64

      2x = 60

      x = 30

      So, the age of T is 30 years.
