    Question

There are three distinct numbers ‘p’, ‘q’ and

    ‘r’. If, p = 160, (p + q) = 460 and (r – q) = 80, then find the average of p, q and r.
A 270 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 280 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 290 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 300 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Given, p = 160, (p + q) = 460 and (r – q) = 80 Therefore, q = 460 – 160 = 300 And, r = 300 + 80 = 380 Required average = (160 + 300 + 380)/3 = 840/3 = 280
