Question
The weight of two persons Kishan and Krishana are in the
ratio 5:7. Krishan’s weight increased by 20% and the total weight of Kishan and Krishana together became 156kg with an increase of 30%. By what percent did the weight of Kishan increase?Solution
Kishan weight + Krishana Weight = 156 × 100/130 ∴ Kishan = 156 × 100/130 ×5/12 = 50 kg ∴ Krishana = 156 × 100/130 × 7/12 = 70kg Initial weight = 50 + 70 = 120 kg Now, after increasing Krishana weight = 70 × 120/100 = 84kg ∴ After increasing Kishan weight = 156 – 84 = 72 kg Required percent = (72 -50)/50 × 100 = 44%
