6 years ago from now, Let the age of Rohit be x years Therefore, age of Arjun = 3x years 9 years hence from now, Age of Arjun = (2x + 6 + 9) = (3x + 15) years Age of Rohit = (x + 6 + 9) = (x + 15) years According to the question, 0.5 × (3x + 15) = x + 15 Or, 1.5x + 7.5 = x + 15 Or, 0.5x = 7.5 Or, x = 15 Therefore, present age of Rohit = x + 6 = 21 years
