    his current age. The ratio of B’s age after 6 years to C’s age 1 year ago is 4:1. What is B’s present age, if C is 50% less than A?
    A 39 yrs Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    B 15 yrs Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    C 23 yrs Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    D 17 yrs Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    ATQ,

    Let the present age of A, B and C be ‘a’, ‘b’ and ‘c’ years respectively.

    a – 4 = 1.2 × a – 11

    0.2 × a = 7

    a = 7 / 0.2

    a = 35 years

    So, age of c = 35 × 0.5 = 17.5 years

    Also, (b + 6)/(c – 1) = 4/1

    b + 6 = 4 × (17.5 – 1) = 4 × 16.5 = 66

    b = 66 – 6 = 60 years
