      Solution

      Section 14(1) provides that the duration of any Council constituted under the Act shall be four years from the date of its first meeting, on the expiry of which it stands dissolved and a new Council is constituted. The 2022 Amendment increased this from the earlier three years. To avoid a vacuum, Section 14(2) provides that the former Council continues to exercise its functions until a new Council is constituted, whereupon it stands dissolved. The correct duration is therefore four years, making it correct.
