    Act?
A National Company Law Tribunal Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Company Law Board Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C National Company Law Appellate Tribunal Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D High Court Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

Under the Companies Act, 2013, the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) is the quasi-judicial body that adjudicates company law matters in the first instance. If a party is aggrieved by an order of the NCLT, it can file an appeal before the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT). Specifically, this is provided under:

    • Section 410 of the Companies Act, 2013 → It establishes the NCLAT to hear appeals against:
      • Orders of the NCLT, and
      • Orders of the National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA).
The Company Law Board (CLB) was abolished with the enforcement of the Companies Act, 2013 and its functions were taken over by the NCLT. High Courts no longer have company law jurisdiction under the new Act.
